What You'll See:
In this video, Chris shows you how he uses the complete Targeted Cow Calling Strategy to locate, and call in, public land, OTC unit bulls during early September. Other than a few edits to remove some extraneous footage taken while Chris was moving and positioning the camera, this video shows the entire encounter - from initial contact, to final "call-in" - that Chris had with this particular bull.
Setting the Stage:
Chris went into this area earlier in the morning with RHR team-member John McDonald, to work a large 5x5 herd bull. Although they got close, they inadvertently spooked the bull and sent the entire group down into the timber for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, John had to leave that day, so after John left, Chris climbed up high into the alpine to wait until evening, and hopefully an opportunity to work the big 5 again.
During the early afternoon, a cold front moved through, completely changed the wind patterns for a while, and almost ruined the entire evening's hunt. Luckily, it pushed through, and the wind settled back to a somewhat favorable direction, so Chris worked his way down to the edge of the timber just as the bulls started talking again.
Viewing / Listening Tips:
As with the other videos, headphones and/or ear-buds are best to listen with, but be careful on where you set the volume; some of Chris' calls and one of the bull's bugles could be a little loud.
