This sequence focuses on a particular cow that appears to have lost her calf (temporarily or otherwise), and is seemingly desperate to locate it (based on the fact she has a full udder, and seems more interested in calf vocalizations than anything else)! While she is part of a larger group of cows and calves, and while a variety of calves respond to her calling – with a couple even coming right up to her – the calf she’s apparently looking for doesn’t appear to be one of them; her extreme use of “Selfish” Mews and Frustrated Whines suggests she’s been searching for her little one for some time.
